It began with a National Carpet store in 1981, the year David Lucas opened his doors, aiming for a successful flooring business that would provide superior customer service. After learning about the Carpet One Floor & Home cooperative a couple of years later, David recognized that the cooperative’s emphasis on value, benefits, and purchasing power aligned with his long-term goals. By 1985, National Carpet had officially joined forces with Carpet One. Once the Fort Lowell store proved successful, stores in Green Valley and Oro Valley were opened, with the most recent location opening on River Road in Tucson.
